At the supply chain summit “EXCHAiNGE”, the specialist for smart shipping communication, parcelLab, was awarded the “Smart Solution Award 2019”. The prize was awarded by the trade magazine “LOGISTIK HEUTE” and Strategy&, the strategy consultancy of PwC, for the second time this year. The award is given to particularly innovative concepts that have the potential to fundamentally change traditional value chains in the future.
With parcelLab’s smart solution, customers can improve the customer experience in the postal check-out process. By monitoring each order in real time, parcelLab enables personalized, individualized and emotional shipping communication supported by machine learning.
“parcelLab’s solution offers great potential to extend and revolutionize its current benefits for customers and merchants in the checkout process in B2C ecommerce to the B2B business,” praised jury member Harald Greimer, partner at PwC Management Consulting. After all, B2B companies also face the challenge of having their valuable customer relationships managed by third parties after a successful transaction.
Jury member Dr. Petra Seebauer, Managing Director of EUROEXP Messe- und Kongress-GmbH and publisher of the trade magazine LOGISTIK HEUTE adds: “parcelLab underlines the thesis that successful solutions focus on the requirements of end customers. By focusing on the essential requirements of end customers, an improved customer experience can be created holistically in the postal check-out process.”
parcelLab co-founder and CEO Tobias Buxhoidt is proud of the award, but does not want to rest on his laurels:
“We hope that by participating in the Smart Solution Award we were able to highlight the relevance of personalized post-purchase communication and that personalization in online retail will advance even further in the future – from checkout to shipping to returns,” he concludes.
parcelLab offers online retailers efficient technology and implementation for successful postal checkout communication – as a white-label solution and in the look & feel of the company.
The goal is to provide shoppers with interesting information after checkout and especially during the entire shipping process, thus creating an optimal shopping experience. Important delivery events or discrepancies are identified thanks to real-time monitoring of each delivery and sent in an individualized manner as an email, SMS, message via Facebook or within the retailer app. This allows companies to determine and manage the entire customer journey themselves, strengthen customer loyalty and exploit upselling potential by directing customers back to the store via specific messages.
The Munich-based start-up was founded in 2014 by Tobias Buxhoidt, Anton Eder and Julian Krenge. Today, over 50 specialists work for more than 350 international retailers in 38 countries and 25 languages.
