1. Briefly tell us what your everyday working life at parcelLab looks like
When not in lockdown Britain, I head to our Hammersmith office with a big sandwich from the local café! I’m known for enjoying a good bit of grub ! Once I finish devouring an egg, bacon and sausage sandwich, I head into the office and begin checking the status of current live clients, ensure they are functioning correctly and the operations are working as expected. I would say my role is split into 3: pre-sales technical consulting, project management and product development delivery.
2. Tell us about your professional career
The exciting thing is my career has only just begun ! I think my interest in software started with developing small applications in college and at home, this led to me “famously” thinking ‘if you can make it, you can break it’. This mindset allowed me to discover cyber security and venture into an apprenticeship with Vodafone where I worked in the Vulnerability Management/Ethical Hacking team. This built up a lot of technical skills as you can imagine! Finally I joined parcelLab to improve and work on my interpersonal skills with clients and now have the joy of managing projects with some of the world’s biggest retailers!
3. What do you like most about parcelLab and your job?
Being the first TAM in the UK, I like the feeling of building something new and helping parcelLab grow in the UK and Nordic regions!
4. In your opinion, what makes parcelLab unique?
The down-to-earth atmosphere that stems from the founders and the fact we are operating in a new category in the industry. Post-purchase communication is a very young topic and it is great to be a key player!
5. What are the characteristics of the perfect parcelLab candidate?
Cool. Versatile. Motivated! parcelLab has a very start-up atmosphere and everyone helps everyone.
6. How would you describe the working atmosphere at parcelLab?
Enjoyable. The atmosphere is very focused and client driven as we're building something new. But we definitely remember to have fun
7. What was your favourite moment at parcelLab so far? And why?
My favourite moment at parcelLab was signing our biggest UK client and then leading the project to go live! This was a very complex whilst exciting project that I feel helped me build a better understanding of our product, its capabilities and most importantly, its value to our clients.
8. What qualities and strengths have you gained during your time at parcelLab?
Working at parcelLab has improved my understanding of effective programme and project management while also improving my confidence in explaining complex technical and logistical issues to non-technical people. I have also enjoyed improving my customer facing skills.
9. What challenges have you had to face during your time at parcelLab and how did you overcome them?
Logistics! I think supply chain logistics is complex where ever you look and it’s the same at parcelLab. Thankfully we are a great team of experts in many fields and we love to share knowledge
10. What makes London so attractive for you?
I’m someone who likes the country side and a pint of cider, so London would not have been my first choice. That being said, I think London’s diversity and breath of culture is definitely very attractive not only to visit but to live in.
11. How would you spend your perfect weekend?
A game of rugby or socialising with friends.
12. What three words would your colleagues use to describe you?
I could eat.
