Bayern Kapital participates in seed financing round of parcelLab

Landshut/Munich, 31 August 2016 - The Munich-based tech start-up parcelLab GmbH has successfully completed a seed financing round. Bayern Kapital and four renowned business angels are investing a high six-figure amount in the company. parcelLab will use the capital from the financing round to further intensify development and sales and to continue its international growth.
parcelLab supports online shops in optimising the shopping experience for the customer during shipping. Delays in delivery are detected via an innovative algorithm and communicated to the customer with automated customer communication via various channels such as email or SMS. It is no longer the shipping service providers that communicate with the customer, but the online retailer itself that stays in contact with the customer through personalised texts and offers: All emails are in the retailer's CI, even the shipping tracking is done directly in the shop. Positive events such as pick-up notifications or delivery announcements are also communicated, which provides additional touchpoints.
In addition, parcelLab provides every online retailer with a precise breakdown of the shipping performance of the logistics service provider, which brings transparency to the delivery process and shows when service level agreements and actual shipping performance differ. The integration into the online shop succeeds with a simple system integration. With this solution, parcelLab creates an increased level of transparency in shipping in order to reduce costs in logistics and customer service and at the same time generate additional turnover through untapped sales potential.
