We are looking for a full-time Engineering Manager to join our Global Engineering team. In this role, you will build, lead and represent one of our teams. Do you like developing code and managing the day-to-day challenges and blockers in an engineering team? Will you take a key role in our global success, a feat directly linked to the developer happiness and development throughput that you will foster? As a digital-first company, we offer greater flexibility in working location. Therefore, you can work from one of our offices in London or Munich or remotely within the UK, Germany, or Spain.
What you can expect:
Take a proactive role in building and leading a team of engineers
Represent the team in collaboration with other managers and leaders
Cultivate the technical expertise and career paths in the team
Spearhead and be accountable for technical delivery and work with the team on strategy and implementation
Hold regular 1:1s with engineers
Develop and deploy production code and create software tools and processes that improve engineering productivity
What you need to succeed:
Proven experience in enabling, managing, coaching, leading, and mentoring software engineers remotely toward delivering high-quality software at speed
Passion for developing and growing people
Proficiency in supporting and shaping a strong culture in an agile environment
Foster decision-making within your team and make final decisions when necessary
Experience in working with cross-functional stakeholders and helping them understand the trade-offs to different product and technical decisions
Acquainted to develop and deliver production software, and software tools that improve engineering productivity
Passionate about open source and its best practices as a way to increase performance and alignment between engineering teams
The most important one: willingness to learn. We are growing and constantly learning new things, and we enjoy that a lot. As the technology landscape is changing fast and we are coping with such change, we do not expect to find people with experience in all those technologies.
