The parcelLab UK E-Commerce Shipping Study 2019 analysed the top 100 online shops in the areas of checkout, shipping and returns. From this, strengths of the companies were discovered, as well as the potential areas for improvement. The 'best in class' retailers were then selected.

The study analysed the following: What are the shipping options? How high are the delivery costs and do the top 100 retailers communicate their delivery times?
Shipping
Do online retailers communicate with their customers during shipping and if so, how? Here, there are some differences between the top 100 online stores.
Returns
How are returns handled? Does the customer have to print out the returns label themself or does the online retailer include it in the package? In addition, the remittance time-frame was analysed. Here, too, there are differences between the online retailers.
Learning from the best
The UK E-Commerce Shipping Study selected the best in their field, with the winners coming from a wide variety of industries. So one thing is certain: other online merchants can still learn a lot from them.
