1. Briefly tell us what your usual working day at parcelLab is like?

When I arrive at the office, I make myself a coffee/muesli and plan the rest of my day. I divide this into different slots, each consisting of different topics and task areas. Whatever that involves: I talk to our developers to find out how the mood is there and if there are still any issues or questions about the current projects as well as tickets.

2. What does your professional career look like?

After graduating from business school in Siegburg, I moved to Aachen to study electrical engineering. After graduation, I worked there briefly at the institute and then came directly to Munich to parcelLab - short and sweet.

3. What do you like most about parcelLab and your job?

I really like the fact that it's easy and straightforward to work with the other team members here, as well as to implement new input quickly and reliably. When I have a new idea, it's just up to me to convince enough people of it as well as to form a project team - and off we go.

4. What makes parcelLab unique in your opinion?

My answer is very clear: the working atmosphere! There are many common events that bring the parcelLab team together so that everyone pulls together. You can clearly feel that and it motivates you to give your best. Above all, it's also about developing yourself further and that is very strongly encouraged by the founders. All doors are open to someone who wants to develop further, and they receive the best possible support at all times. That is not always a matter of course.

5. What qualities does the perfect parcelLab applicant have?

A future parcelLab employee should definitely be motivated to try out new things. Furthermore, he or she should prefer to take risks instead of being negative towards innovations. At parcelLab, we like to try out new ideas, even if they might fail in the end. But as we all know, you learn from your mistakes.

6. How would you describe the working atmosphere at parcelLab?

As I said before, the working atmosphere is what makes parcelLab for me. Other employees become friends after a short time, so we also like to meet and do things privately. That is really unique! New employees in particular are always warmly welcomed at our company.

7. What has been your favorite moment at parcelLab so far? And why?

I recently did a workshop in London on Product Roadmap & Strategy. After that, I came up with a concept on how to implement something like that at parcelLab. I then presented that independently to two of our founders (Tobi & Julian) and the first reaction from both of them was, "What do you need from me to implement that?". That impressed me a lot.

8. What qualities and strengths were you able to gain during your time at parcelLab?

I quickly learned that customers also appreciate it when you communicate with them normally on a friendly level and are always honest. Not all customers, especially in large companies, are used to that and are happy about a bit of start-up flair.

9. What challenges have you already had to face during your time at parcelLab and how did you overcome them?

There are enough challenges if you actively seek them out. As I said, we prefer to take risks rather than always acting on the safe side. This often results in very ambitious goals.  We have been able to meet many critical deadlines because we have pulled together as a team. I am convinced that many projects would have failed without this special parcelLab team spirit.

10. What makes Munich so attractive for you?

Quite simply: my girlfriend.

11. How would you spend your perfect weekend?

In the sun!
