1. Briefly tell us what your everyday working life at parcelLab looks like
When I first come to the office in the morning I greet everyone and have a quick catch up with my colleagues. Next I get my cereal and morning coffee and then work starts.
I talk to potential customers most of the day, create offers or contracts, give presentations and take care of any concerns from our existing customers. From time to time I drive to trade fairs/events or have a face-to-face meeting with a potential customer.
2. Tell us about your professional career
After school I did an apprenticeship as a wholesale and foreign trade merchant at a plumbing and heating wholesaler and then worked for 2 1/2 years in customer recovery for Telefónica Germany. It was there that I decided I wanted to pursue a career in sales.
After my time at Telefónica, I completed a Professional Bachelor Degree in Business before I finally came to parcelLab.
3. What do you like most about parcelLab and your job?
Firstly, that I can learn a lot of new things in my role. But mostly, I just like selling our innovative solution to potential customers.
4. In your opinion, what makes parcelLab unique?
I cannot imagine working in any other company. During my time at parcelLab I have been able to learn a lot. There is something new every day, because no two days are the same.
New challenges constantly arise that can be solved independently or by working together in a team. I feel that the nature of my role allows me to grow alongside the company and this growth is happening at an incredible rate.
5. What are the characteristics of the perfect parcelLab candidate?
The perfect parcelLab employee should be able to work both independently and in a team. It is also important that they fit into the team well.
6. How would you describe the working atmosphere at parcelLab?
I find that the working atmosphere at parcelLab is usually relatively relaxed. You can freely plan your day and organise your work yourself. From time to time, things are a lot more busy but that has never been a problem for me.
7. What was your favourite moment at parcelLab so far? And why?
In the 3 1/2 years I’ve been working here, I’ve had so many wonderful moments; there’s too many to just pick one! I truly look forward to work every morning (yes, even on Mondays!).
8. What qualities and strengths have you gained during your time at parcelLab?
I have become much more confident dealing with customers – whether in person or on the phone. In addition, I now better understand my customers, their processes and their problems. This helps me to adapt our solution perfectly to the needs of each client.
9. What makes Munich so attractive for you?
Munich is just a very nice city. The proximity to the mountains is ideal for skiing and motorcycling. Plus, there is always something to do. If you’re a sports or activity enthusiast, there are so many events through the year (e.g. Tollwood, Oktoberfest etc.). Or alternatively, you can relax in a beer garden or by the Isar.
Munich simply has the perfect mix of calm and hustle and bustle.
10. How would you spend your perfect weekend?
I have no particular preference so I usually do what I feel like at the time. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a relaxing or eventful weekend. As long as the right people are there, it’s great!
11. What three words would your colleagues use to describe you?
Head of lunch
